Saturday morning

This morning, Nichole woke up with a charley horse type of pain in her right side that would not go away. After a couple of hours of this, we decided she should call the doctor. The doctor suggested we go to the hospital, since it could be a problem, and it would be better to be safe than sorry. One thing the doctor thought was that it might be Nichole's appendix, and a white blood count could tell us that. So... We're at the hospital right now, waiting for the results of the blood test and for a doctor to come in. They also said she may have a pelvic exam while we're here, to see how close to delivery she really is. Nichole is hooked up to a baby monitor system which shows the baby's heartbeat, tracks fetal movement, and measures contractions. So far it looks like she has had a few small contractions, but nothing particularly regular yet. The pain she was feeling has subsided somewhat, and seems to be centralized more in her back now. Jordan and Abbi and I are in the family!
waiting room for a bit, where I'm making this entry. They are getting restless since we have been here for an hour with nothing really happening. I'll write more later if I have a chance. We planned to go swimming at my mom's house today, but that may have to wait. UPDATE: False alarm, but we're closer! Nichole's white blood count is normal, which rules out appendicitis. Nichole is at 1cm with sixty percent effacement. The pain seems to have gone away for now, so it's off to my mom's to go swimming.
