Update: Back from the hospital now, and everything is fine. Apparently when they measured the heartbeat, it was just during a period of "extreme fetal activity". In other words, she spazzed out in the womb for a minute or two. It's similar to if you ran up the stairs really fast... your heartbeat would be racing too.

They kept Nichole for 30 minutes or so and kept her on a monitor and everything seemed to be fine. The monitor did show that Nichole had at least one good-sized contraction, but I don't think we'll be heading back to the hospital tonight, and things seem to be okay with the baby. But at least for a short while today, Emma's wasn't the only heart that was racing.
